It was a thrilling finale of the The Amazing Race Asia 3 last night. Of course I was rooting for Ida & Tania but after their bad luck at the Dubai airport, I was hoping the HK team would win (as long as not the cocky Geoff and Tish haha).
Anyway, here’s a Sony ad featuring the winners, Vince and Sam.
Just how daring can our snatch thieves has become? Over the weekend, a snatch theft happened just outside a coffee shop where a crime prevention campaign was on-going. It was done in daytime and in a crowded place.
Fortunately, the would-be thief didn’t manage to get anything as the victim held on to his bag and fell to the ground.
MUAR: An attempted snatch theft took place just meters from a coffeeshop near Jalan Pesta here where a crime-prevention campaign was being held by authorities.
A man riding a motorcycle tried to snatch the handbag of a woman who was walking to her car after buying food at the coffeeshop at 12.05pm.
However, the woman aged 38 from Taman Murni held on to the bag and fell on the road.
The snatch thief fled towards the back of SK Pei Yang and disappeared from the area.
Several Bakri MCA members who happened to be near the coffeeshop rushed to inform Muar police chief Asst Comm Mohammed Nasir Ramli who was in the shop.
ACP Mohammed Nasir, who was with Chris Lee, special officer to the Mentri Besar for Bentayan, rushed out to check on the woman who had suffered cuts on her right hand.
The police chief later told reporters that police would track the snatch thief, who dared commit a crime near a crowded area.
He said that police had detained a snatch thief several days ago and urged residents to be careful of such criminals when walking in the town.
“Although police have managed to control snatch theft incidents, we want people to take good care of their handbags and purses.
“We also want those confronted by snatch thieves to shout out loudly for help,” he said.

Five surgeons from big cities are discussing who makes the easiest patients to operate on.
The first surgeon, from Sigapore, says, ‘I like to see accountants on my operating table, because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered’
The second, from Bangkok, responds, ‘Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is colour coded.’
The third surgeon, from Bejing says, ‘No, I really think librarians are the best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order.’
The fourth surgeon, from Jarkarta , chimes in: ‘You know, I like construction workers… those guys always understand when you have a few parts leftover.’
But the fifth surgeon, from KL , shut them all up when he observed: ‘You’re all wrong. Politicians from UMNO are the easiest to operate on. There’s no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains and no spine, and the head and the arse are interchangeable.‘
A 57-year old man wanted to marry another woman who is in her 30s as his second wife. He probably didn’t know how to ask, so he asked his 60-year current wife to ask on his behalf. What a d*ck right? Well then when the wife went to the other woman’s house, she found out that she was already married.
So when she reported this to her husband, he was so angry that he hit his wife. He assaulted her and threatened to chop her with a parang!
Now I hope she divorces him and leave him alone. If he wants to ask another woman for marriage, he should do it himself.
KUANTAN: She tried to get the consent of the woman her husband wanted as a second wife. But the woman was already married.
The husband got angry because of her failure to get the woman’s approval and beat her up. He also threatened her with a parang and tried to shoot her.
Fearing for her safety, the 60-year-old woman ran to her son’s house nearby in Pancing before lodging a police report.
State CID deputy chief Supt Mohd Haris Daud said the woman was asked by her husband, aged 57, to seek the consent of the other woman, in her 30s, to be his second wife on Oct 24.
“The woman did so and went to the other woman’s house but found out that she was already married. She returned home and informed her husband, who became agitated and started to assault her and threatened to chop her with a parang,” he said.
Supt Mohd Haris said the man, who is a security guard and Rela member, threatened to shoot her with a shotgun if she failed to get the woman’s approval.
He said a suspect has been detained to assist in the investigation.
“The case is being investigated for criminal intimidation,” he said.
